Why are you collecting data?
Chances are, you have been heard that your organization needs to "leverage more data" to help make decisions.
That's something I love to hear when walking into a client's office! It's a step in the right direction. However, many initiatives can quickly fade away and lead back to uninformed decision making. Why do you suppose that is?
Data-driven decision making requires a culture shift (and it's not an easy one).
If you're already in the data business, you understand that a lot of the world doesn't understand what you do or the enormous amount of value you bring to the table. Just remember, some people will be on board immediately, some will take time and others will never make the leap. Just be professional and understand your clients - that will make a world of difference!
There are a lot of ways to speed up the process of becoming more data-driven. The common thread you'll find in every blog post, article or book is to stay results oriented. Seeing light at the end of the tunnel will keep everyone motivated and will ultimately lead to success!
